I really love discovering new lines. And when they are pleasant surprises found in the inbox of my email, it's even better—as if they found their way to me by fashion fate. Prairie New York is my lastest find and I'm so happy that this stylish indie label found its way into my fashionsphere. Designer Danielle Shriber describes the look as uptown chic and downtown cool. Upon careful inspection of the Fall 08 look book, I found myself wanting nearly every item in the collex. This adorable little jacket, however, is my top pick. The bell sleeves are so cute, the collar is very chic, and the ever-so cool buttons are quite an impressive detail. And that silhouette—perfection. I'd wear it with jeans for a casual-chic vibe or dress it up with a pair of black trousers. New Feature :: Weekly LuxeLists

You might have already noticed, but there is a new feature on D~LuxeList: "this week's luxelist" is a weekly roundup of items with photos and quick links for online purchases (see left, just below d~luxelist deals, events and sample sale info). Serena & Lily Market Sling

Wearing your baby is a fairly new trend. Your mom and grandma certainly did not have the slings, carriers and wraps that we have today. Most babies love them (though you might have to try different types to find the perfect fit). My little guy loves them all, and even though my back may have suffered a bit I'd be lost without them. We tried two different slings before finding the right one—the Serena & Lily Market Sling is the best in my book. My babe spent many hours snuggled in the sling, snoozing away. We still use it (though he stays awake in it now and peeks over the side) even though baby boy is now 16 pounds and mommy is a petite 5' 3". Marc by Marc Jacobs Quincy Sweater

This post combines two things I've loved for a very long time: Marc Jacobs and ShopBop. And even after all these years, with a plethora of new designers and e-boutiques making their marks on the fashion scene, I will always have a place in my heart and my closet for MJ and ShopBop. My latest Marc by Marc obsession, the Quincy Sweater in Glaze White, is perfect for the transition from Indian Summer heat to brisk autumn temps. Alexander Wang Hobo Bag

Wunderkind designer Alexander Wang made a quite a splash on the fashion scene with his progressive fashion collection. But it's not the clothing I'm currently obsessed with. This ultra-cool hobo bag is on my Wang wishlist for Fall. I love the edgy look and cool details—the zippers, the unique pockets, and the knotted shoulder strap. Now here comes the sad part for my fellow handbag addicts: First I found it at OakNYC.com and then LaGarconne.com but now they are both sold out! Let's hope this style will reemerge quickly. Or those savvy shoppers and AW devotees who scooped it up already will be among a very lucky few.
